    Course Description

    Nature and Needs of Gifted Students provides an overview of the evolution of gifted education at the national, state, and local levels. Participants will examine major events, policies, and procedures that have shaped the delivery of gifted education. The course also explores the cognitive, social, and emotional characteristics commonly associated with students who are gifted and evidence-based strategies for meeting the diverse academic needs of gifted learners.

    This 60-hour course includes instructional activities, research, and extended learning outside of the online classroom.
